Buddy Up

For those in the funeral industry, juggling training your staff while also conducting funerals can become tricky.

That’s where IFISS training services are beneficial to both employers and employees.

Offsite training courses can be excellent for those entering or upskilling in the funeral industry, however, this format isn’t always practical. Trainees may struggle to apply certain learnings to real-life situations, and employers are left with limited staff on site.

On the other hand, when employers attempt to train their staff ‘on the job’ , there can be limits to the effectiveness of the training. Often staff aren’t trained as thoroughly as they could be, and we rely on individuals taking on the role of ‘trainer’ when perhaps they aren’t skilled in this role.

So how can staff be upskilled, while also allowing employers to continue providing funeral care?

At IFISS, we come to your place of work and train your staff in the job they are doing. We take direction from employers as to what aspects employees need training in and apply that to the training.

Our buddy system helps employees learn faster and more thoroughly, building their confidence, with our trainers acting as a backup for any challenging situations. Plus, funeral directors get the added benefit of an additional person on hand.

Additionally, we can also upskill experienced mortuary staff in areas such as hair and makeup for final presentation, or preparing a particular case they may find difficult.

If you’re interested in training that’s time-efficient, cost-effective and builds the confidence of your staff, contact us and we can provide a tailored plan and proposal to help you achieve your goal.
