Often in the death industry, we face logistical or emotional challenges that in the moment, we may not be equipped with the knowledge to respond to.
This can lead to many of us thinking, wouldn’t it be good if there was a resource that could help me navigate this?
At IFISS, we want to build training and resources that better support you and to do this, we need your input.
So this is your opportunity to share with us what you think our industry needs.
Do you ever wish there was a resource to help manage a particular situation? Maybe you find yourself thinking, I wonder if we can actually do that?
No matter what your role in the death industry, you’re likely familiar with that feeling of wanting to accommodate requests while also being unsure if that’s feasible. We all have the best intentions to fulfil every idea that comes our way, however, without the knowledge or understanding of whether this can be logistically achieved can be challenging.
This isn’t a reflection of competence or skillset, rather it’s an indication of a gap that needs to be bridged through resources and training. There’s that old saying you don’t know what you don’t know and it rings true in these instances. Because without having been exposed to all the requirements needed to execute a request, it’s difficult to understand the limitations.
Having a broader appreciation of the various roles within the industry and how each affects the other, can also help directors communicate with suppliers to manage family requests. That’s where we need to work together to build resources and training for the industry to tap into and help achieve our common goals. And we want to hear from you.
What do you think our industry needs? Share your thoughts today and help us build a knowledge base for everyone in our industry.
