Introduction to the funeral industry
This introductory course is perfect for both those considering a career change and employers inducting new recruits. Throughout this full-day course, participants will establish a good understanding of the mindset of the industry, along with the expectations and requirements of the industry.
With an overview in theory and simple practical experiences, this course sets up the framework for participants and provides the context of what a funeral is, the roles in the industry and the mindset and skillset needed to succeed. Participants will learn what it is about the industry that suits them, which direction to take and the skills required for a particular role or employer.
During the session you will:
- Explore the industry
- Learn about specific roles including business, sales, marketing and PR.
- Understand grief in the workplace
- Take part in practical demonstrations and exercises
