Expressions of Interest Mortuary Information Session

Date: Thursday 25th May

Time: 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Cost: $66pp

Where: IFISS

A valuable information session for industry professionals and those looking to begin a career in Mortuary Care Services. 

During the session, you will:

  • Gain a realistic understanding of the requirements and what mortuary care and embalming involves.
  • Learn the expectations and challenges, while also furthering your appreciation for the art and craft of the profession. 
  • Be in a safe space to ask questions
  • Learn more about various courses offered by Registered Training Organisations.

1 Day Introduction to Basic Mortuary Care with Demonstration

Date: Saturday 17th June

Time: 9am – 4pm

Cost: $700pp + gst

Where: IFISS

This full day introductory course is an excellent way to enhance your knowledge of this industry and is perfect for those considering a career change.

During the session, you’ll gain a realistic understanding of the requirements and what embalming involves. You’ll learn more about the expectations and challenges, whilst furthering your appreciation for the art and craft of the profession. 

Upon completion of this training the participant will be exposed to:

• Basic Manual Handling

• Follow mortuary work Health and safety procedures (SIFEWHS001)

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Understanding Mortuary Terminology

With a practical demonstration included, you’ll be prepared and ready to apply your new skills in your own workplace. Throughout the session, you will participate in demonstrations including:

• Set Facial features 

• Aspiration 

• Basic Cosmetics and hair presentation & Dressing of deceased 

• En-coffin Deceased person
