Dear Friends of IFISS
We hope that you, your colleagues, and your families are safe during the recent and ongoing fires across Victoria.
While there has been one confirmed fatality, we acknowledge that many other significant impacts follow such events, including the loss of livestock, homes, personal belongings, and the ongoing fear and uncertainty around safety.
From an industry perspective, as we have experienced during COVID, floods, and previous fire events, we must continue to remain available to support families who have lost loved ones outside of these disasters. This ongoing responsibility can place additional expectations on our industry and, at times, challenge our resilience and well-being.
The IFISS team is available at any time should you or your staff need support. Welfare checks can be arranged, and we are also able to facilitate group or individual interventions, debriefs, and resilience training sessions across the state (in person) to support your teams during this time.
