Job Title: Funeral Industry Administrator Receptionist

Location: Northern Inner-City Melbourne

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary Package: $60,000 – $70,000

Working Hours: 7:00 – 7:30 AM – 3:30-4.30 PM

Our client is currently seeking an exceptional Administration professional to join a team in the funeral care industry. This is a key supporting role that requires a dynamic and resilient individual who thrives in an ever-changing environment.

Job Description:

As a Funeral/Death Care Administrator Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, providing a warm and supportive presence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting clients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
  • Managing phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication.
  • Scheduling appointments and coordinating with funeral directors.
  • Assisting clients with necessary paperwork and documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Preparing invoices and handling financial transactions.
  • Supporting the planning and organization of funeral services.
  • Ensuring the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Providing general administrative support to the team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in a funeral home, cemetery or similar setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathetic and compassionate demeanour.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Professional appearance and conduct.
