Introduction to the Funeral Industry: A half-day course for anyone wondering if a career in the funeral industry might be the right fit. Led by industry pros with years of hands-on experience, it’s an open, honest look at the different roles, the day-to-day reality of the work, and the mindset it takes to do it well. You’ll walk away with a real feel for where your skills could land, plus a complimentary 1:1 with an IFISS expert to help you map out next steps.
Introduction to the Funeral Industry, Funerals and Mortuary Care: This course takes you through the funeral care journey, from the first transfer, through mortuary care, all the way to the final service. It’s about seeing how the different roles fit together, and what good care looks like at every step.
Introduction to the Funeral Industry, Cemeteries and Crematoria: This course gives you a clear view of the full range of roles across the industry, from transfer teams, arrangers, conductors, embalmers, FDAs, hearse drivers, to administrators- you name it. As an induction, new staff get a feel for what each role actually looks like day to day, how the timelines run, and the kinds of challenges that come with working in cemeteries and crematoria.
More Than a Course
These sessions double as induction tools for new employees. Whether someone is joining as grounds staff, in admin, or meeting families, they’ll begin to understand how their role connects with funeral directors and the people they’re serving.
